Ifá is the Divine Message of Olodumare to mankind through Orunmila (B.A). The religious aspect of this holy message consists of institutionalized system of beliefs, values and symbolic practices that provide human beings with spiritual solutions to their problems. The origin of this religious practice is as old as humanity itself. This religion was first practiced by the Yoruba people of the South-Western part of Nigeria in Africa before it was spread all over the world.

Having firmly resolved to work towards the propagation of Ifá Religion with a view to contributing our quota to the peace, progress, unity and dignity of the human race at large, we, the members of the International Council for Ifá Religion do hereby ordain and give ourselves the following Constitution.

The Council shall be a religious body. THE INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL FOR IFÁ RELIGION (ICIR) has been duly registered in Nigeria, Africa by the relevant authority (RC 14,074 of 19th October, 2001). All properties including funds shall be acquired, owned and used for the name and interest of the Council and shall belong to the Council.

SUPREMACY OF THE CONSTITUTION

This constitution shall be supreme and its provisions shall have binding effect on all members of the Council.

If any other law, directive or action is inconsistent with the provisions of this constitution, this constitution shall prevail and such law, directive or action shall, to the extent of the inconsistency, be null and void.
